Non Sequitur

Non Sequitur is a series of experiments in utilizing text as a material in craft processes. In this work, text from a variety of sources has been put through processes of making that abstract familiar forms and frustrate automatic comprehension. With literal meaning uncertain, there is an opportunity to question the importance and authority that we cede to words, and to recognize, value, and cultivate tacit knowledge. This work explores what meanings might emerge, change, or multiply if language was treated as just one material among many in the act of communication.

Non Sequitur was presented at the Common Wealth Gallery in Madison, Wisconsin, in early March, 2020.
